In Manchester

JANUARY 19TH/20TH 2019

The pub total we chased during our cellar hopping ale trail in Manchester was at least 15 GBG pubs, with the breadknife also needing to tick off the 5 JDW's (which I've already done) She managed to comfortably do the 'Spoons along with 17 of the cities GBG's (including two in Salford)

The only three of the list of 20 GBG pubs we missed were the Eagle Inn (closed for private party) Sandbar (too far off our beaten track) and the Angel (ran out of time before our train home)

Hit The North(allerton)!

The first ale trail of the year was a trip to Northallerton for Honest Paul's birthday. I picked out ten pubs to visit during our four and a half hour stay, but sadly I failed the complete this task. In the end we visited seven pubs, but I did tick off the 3 GBG* pubs in the town.

My latest bevvy/football combo weekend was in the spa town of Buxton in Derbyshire. A leisurely Saturday night out involved 9 pubs, included 2 GBG's(total 580) and a 'Spoons(total 381) plus England's oldest hotel.

Happy Valley

My last visit into the Happy Valley was a miserable one, spending 20 hours in our hotel room suffering from violent sickness (from both ends) Thankfully I was a clean bill of health this time, as the breadknife and I enjoyed an pleasant afternoon in Sowerby followed by a good night out in Halifax.
