My latest bevvy/football combo weekend was in the spa town of Buxton in Derbyshire. A leisurely Saturday night out involved 9 pubs, included 2 GBG's(total 580) and a 'Spoons(total 381) plus England's oldest hotel.
My last visit into the Happy Valley was a miserable one, spending 20 hours in our hotel room suffering from violent sickness (from both ends) Thankfully I was a clean bill of health this time, as the breadknife and I enjoyed an pleasant afternoon in Sowerby followed by a good night out in Halifax.
As always your guaranteed a great night out with British Sea Power. A good mixed set-list which included a couple of songs I hadn't heard live before. My personal highlights were 'Remember Me' 'Spirit of St Louis' and (of course) 'The Great Skua'
This is the first time I've seen The Lovely Eggs and I hope it's not the last. Brilliant from start to finish with a set list featuring tracks from their fabulous 2018 album 'This is Eggland' My personal highlights were 'Fuck it!' 'People and Twats' and 'Allergies'
This was the second time I've seen Slaves live and just like the first time, I felt like I was the oldest swinger in town with the venue full of young lasses. I'm still totally baffled how a 21st century punk outfit can have a core fan base of teenage girls. (It must be Issac's fine physique) Great gig though!
