Notts Landing

This time last week we landed in Notts for our annual bevvy and races beano. I was hoping to tick off a dozen GBG pubs, and with a lot of help from Wilko's taxi, we managed to achieve it. Overall we supped in a grand total of 21 Nottingham pubs, which included 19 previously uncharted.

A brilliant night in the company of the king, playing a fabulous set with plenty of golden oldies for us golden oldies in the audience.  Elvis was in great form considering he was ill and has now been advised by his doctors to cancel the remaining few dates of this tour and take plenty of rest.

Thirsty in Thirsk

Our latest pub crawl and overnight stop off was in the north Yorkshire market town of Thirsk. A cracking night and a very easy pub crawl with all the boozers in close proximity.

 After feeling quite fragile on Sunday morning we walked the course at Thirsk. I have been racing at the track twice before, but that was a long time ago, back in my previous life in 1986 and '87.
